Sandison made a name for herself when she walked across the Miss Idaho Pageant stage wearing her t:slim® Insulin Pump. It was not just the audience who noticed.

After winning the title that evening, Sandison became the focus of media outlets around the world. She was featured on The Today Show, Good Morning America, Dr. Oz, National Public Radio, and in People Magazine. As a result, she started the #ShowMeYourPump Campaign to dispel any stigma of diabetes therapy.

People with diabetes around the country, especially young women, shared via social media photos of themselves wearing their insulin pumps with confidence. With the launch of her new book, Sugar Linings: Finding the Bright Side of Type 1 Diabetes, Sandison hopes to continue to send a message of hope and positivity.

Sierra’s participation is part of Tandem Diabetes Care’s Live Life in Full Color Speaker Series.
