Have you formed a family Walk team for the 2012 Walk to Cure Diabetes?  Are you new to Breakthrough T1D and considering forming a team?  We have just the thing to help you be successful in your efforts to raise more money for research.  We are pleased to present our second annual Family Team Workshop on Saturday, September 8 at the Springs Preserve from 1:30 to 3:00 pm.  Join us and our group of experts as we provide you with ideas on how to increase your fundraising totals, how to expand your donor list, how to get your school involved, and what to expect on Walk Day.  We are also very pleased to provide you with a brief research update.  It is important for you, and your donors, to know how Breakthrough T1D is spending your money and what incredible research is taking place.
Here is what a few of last year’s attendees said about the workshop.

Shelli Gialketsis, Chair of the Outreach Committee and Team Captain for the Red Hot Chili Steppers said, “This workshop was exactly what I needed to motivate me to get a jump on our fundraising efforts.  In addition, I appreciated hearing about the research advancements.  We like to keep our donors informed about the great work that Breakthrough T1D is doing.”

Christine Dugan, Team Captain of Darth Brandt’s Walkers said, “Hearing about the creative ways families can raise money really inspired me.  This workshop took the intimidation out of making “the ask.”  I was shocked at the outpouring of generosity from our family and friends.  All we had to do was ask.”
There will be special activities for your children while you are attending the workshop.  Space is limited so please RSVP today by calling the Breakthrough T1D office at 732-4795.
