The Nevada Chapter Volunteer of the Month program is sponsored by our community partners at Raising Cane’s Chicken Fingers. Each month we highlight one of our fabulous chapter volunteers and that volunteer will receive gift cards for free meals from Raising Cane’s.

We are pleased to announce our Raising Canes Volunteer of the Month for this month is Racheal McSharry.

Racheal is the Type 1 Talk Chair, hosting the group’s monthly meeting for families who are trying to understand and live with T1D and its day to day issues. In addition, Racheal has taken on responsibilities as a family mentor/Outreach Volunteer for newly diagnosed T1D families. She is also our lead mentor for newly diagnosed Spanish speaking families.

Along with those duties and as a full-time working mom, Racheal continues to keep her daughter Elyssa involved with the Youth Ambassador and Speakers Bureau program, One Walk team fundraising, and participates in all our chapter events. We are very proud of her tireless effort to do whatever she can to support the Breakthrough T1D community and her never say “No” spirit!
