35 Faces of the Breakthrough T1D One Walk: Meet Ed
in Fundraising

35 Faces, 35 years of Walking, 35 Reasons to Give
I want people to know that having T1D doesn’t have to keep you from doing what you want in life. I was diagnosed at the age of 9, and I’ve never let T1D stop me from playing sports, going to school or being a normal kid. For the past 4 years, my family and I have participated in the Breakthrough T1D One Walk in Columbus. Since our first walk, we have raised over $12,000! Our goal this year is to raise $7,500. My favorite way to fundraise is sending emails and posting on Facebook. Last year, my cousin wrote a book at school and donated the sales from her book to my walk team. Her book sales helped us raise over $3,000 for my team! The best part about the walk day itself is climbing on the rock wall and hanging out with my friends. Just because the walk is in October, I want people to know that they can donate to Breakthrough T1D year round. It is important for people to learn the warning signs of T1D and raise awareness! A cure for T1D means being like my friends and not having to worry about how much insulin to dose and carrying around a bunch of supplies all the time.
Please consider supporting Ed’s fundraising efforts by donating to his Breakthrough T1D One Walk team here.
