35 Faces of the Breakthrough T1D One Walk: Meet Elizabeth

in

35 Faces, 35 years of Walking, 35 Reasons to Give

I was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes (T1D) when I was just 2 years old. I am now 6! I don’t remember what it was like to not have to prick my finger or check my blood sugar. One day when there is a cure, I will be free of shots and medicine! I don’t let T1D stop me from being a kid. I love to do arts & crafts and catch bugs outside. I even garden! This will be my 3rd Breakthrough T1D Walk this fall with my friends and family. My favorite thing about walk day is getting my face painted. My dad is on the Breakthrough T1D One Walk Family Teams Committee and helps new families raise money and learn about the Breakthrough T1D Walk. He sends emails and makes phone calls to our friends and family asking them to donate and come walk with us. I want people to know that one day I won’t have T1D – there will be a cure!

Please consider supporting Elizabeth’s fundraising efforts by donating to her Breakthrough T1D One Walk team here.
