Welcome Sara Orrell
New Breakthrough T1D Georgia Chapter Executive Director

We are pleased to announce that Sara Orrell has joined the Breakthrough T1D Georgia Chapter as Executive Director. With over 20 years of experience, Sara has dedicated her professional career to working in the non-profit sector and is honored to serve the type 1 diabetes (T1D) Community.

Sara comes to us from the Arthritis Foundation National Office, where she was the Senior Director, Volunteer Development.  Prior to that served in series of strategic fundraising roles at both the local and national level, including leading special events, field staff and partnering with volunteers.  Sara received her Bachelor’s degree at James Madison University and was a recent graduate of the Leadership Buckhead Class of 2017.

Sara and her husband live in Dunwoody with their two children, Braxton, 13, and Emily, 10 and their dog, Shelby.  She’s excited to meet many of you at the TypeOneNation Summit later this month.
