Sierra made a name for herself when she walked across the Miss Idaho Pageant stage wearing her t:slim® Insulin Pump. After winning the title that evening, Sandison became the focus of media outlets around the world. As a result, she started the #ShowMeYourPump campaign to dispel any stigma of diabetes therapy. Summer 2017, she rode her bike across the U.S. with Team Bike Beyond, a group of 20 riders with type 1 diabetes. With the launch of her book, Sugar Linings: Finding the Bright Side of Type 1 Diabetes, Sandison continues to send a message of hope and positivity. Sierra’s participation is part of Tandem Diabetes Care’s Live Life in Full Color Speaker Series.
