Young Leadership Committee
JDRF’s Young Leadership Committee (YLC) is a group of passionate and motivated young professionals (age 21-40) who support Breakthrough T1D’s efforts to cure type 1 diabetes (T1D) while finding ways to improve the lives of people with T1D today. The YLC is dedicated to raising money and awareness for Breakthrough T1D through various fundraising, networking and social events that are dynamic, energetic, and fun. Members have a special connection to T1D—whether they live with the disease every day or are connected through a friend or family member.
The YLC Walks! Team participated in the 2013 Boston Walk and raised more than $14,000 for T1D research. Next month, the YLC is supporting Breakthrough T1D by hosting the 2nd Annual Unmask A Cure: A Breakthrough T1D Masquerade Ball. Unmask A Cure brings young professionals in the city together for a night of dancing, music, raffles, and fundraising to benefit Breakthrough T1D. The masquerade ball will take place on Saturday, April 12, 2014 at the Boston Marriott Long Wharf. Tickets are now on sale at www.unmaskacure.com.
You can support the YLC by attending events and donating your time, efforts, and ideas. For more information about Unmask A Cure, or to learn how you can become involved with the YLC, please email ylcbaystate@gmail.com. You can also learn more on Facebook at www.facebook.com/baystateYLC.
