Her son was diagnosed with T1D in 2006. Stacey launched a second podcast, \u201cDiabetes Connections TYPE 2,\u201d in November 2023. Her podcasts have been awarded the WEGO Health Top Ten Best in Show \u2013 Podcasts; The Podcast Awards \u2013 People\u2019s Choice &#8211; Top Ten Health; and D<em>iabetes Forecast Magazine<\/em>: Top Diabetes Podcasts. In 2023, \u201cDiabetes Connections\u201d surpassed 2.3 million downloads.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe World\u2019s Worst Diabetes Mom\u201d won Best New Non-Fiction at the American Book Fest, a 2020 Communicator Award, and was named to Book Authority\u2019s 100 Best Parenting Books. Its sequel, \u201cStill the World\u2019s Worst Diabetes Mom\u201d received a 2023 Mom\u2019s Choice Gold Award.<\/p>\n<p>Stacey is the organizer of \u201cDiabetes Connections presents: Moms\u2019 Night Out,\u201d a new overnight conference for mothers of children with diabetes. She has been named to <em>Diabetes Forecast Magazine<\/em>&#8216;s &#8220;12 People to Know,\u201d the <em>Charlotte Business Journal<\/em>\u2019s \u201cForty under 40,\u201d and as one of the \u201c50 Most Influential Women in Mecklenburg County\u201d by the <em>Mecklenburg Times<\/em>.
