{"id":9400,"date":"2024-11-07T12:19:10","date_gmt":"2024-11-07T19:19:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.breakthrought1d.org\/pacificnorthwest\/?p=9400"},"modified":"2025-12-01T20:19:17","modified_gmt":"2025-12-01T20:19:17","slug":"ohsu-still-enrolling-for-pramlintide-study","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.breakthrought1d.org\/greaternorthwest\/2024\/11\/07\/ohsu-still-enrolling-for-pramlintide-study\/","title":{"rendered":"OHSU Still Enrolling for Pramlintide Study!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>OHSU is still looking for a few more participants for its\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.breakthrought1d.org\/pacificnorthwest\/2024\/09\/16\/t1d-insulin-and-pramlintide-dual-delivery-study-at-ohsu\/\" data-auth=\"NotApplicable\">Pramlintide Study<\/a>.\u00a0 The study is testing\u00a0how well a\u00a0new closed loop system, called iPancreas, manages blood sugars in people with type 1 diabetes (T1D) using Omnipods with insulin plus pramlintide.\u00a0 Pramlintide works by slowing down the movement of food through the stomach, which prevents blood sugar from rising too high after a meal. Pramlintide is already FDA-approved for T1D when used with mealtime insulin.<\/p>\n<p>The closed loop system will receive glucose values from the Dexcom G6 continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) and automatically send commands to one Omnipod for insulin and one Omnipod for pramlintide.<\/p>\n<p>Both pump and MDI users may be eligible.<\/p>\n<p>The study will take place over ~6 weeks and consists of 4 visits:\u00a0 a 1.5 hour screening visit, a short visit for training on using the Dexcom G6 CGM with the study app, a 12.5 hour in-clinic visit to use both insulin and pramlintide, and a 12.5 hour in-clinic visit to use only insulin.\u00a0 During the 12.5 hour in-clinic visits, participants will eat breakfast and lunch in the clinic.<\/p>\n<p>To learn more about this study or find out if
