As it does, kickstart your summer by stretching your legs and walking or running with us at <\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">the <\/span><b><i><span data-contrast=\"none\">43<\/span><\/i><\/b><b><i><span data-contrast=\"none\">rd<\/span><\/i><\/b><b><i><span data-contrast=\"none\"> Annual Beat the Bridge for Breakthrough T1D, presented by SanMar on Saturday May 10th at Husky Stadium<\/span><\/i><\/b><span data-contrast=\"none\">!<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0 <\/span><b><span data-contrast=\"none\">Register<\/span><\/b><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> your team, put it in your calendar and raise some funds for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breakthrought1d.org\/t1d-basics\/\">type 1 diabetes<\/a> (T1D) research.<\/span><\/b><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Need some motivation?<\/span><\/b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0 Meet our Beat the Bridge Ambassadors! These amazing young people are motivated to raise awareness and raise funds to keep the momentum going for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breakthrought1d.org\/explore-research\/curing-t1d\/\">T1D research for cures<\/a>.\u00a0 They are asking <\/span><b><span data-contrast=\"none\">YOU<\/span><\/b><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> to join their movement!<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Meet Clara, Age 12<\/span><\/b><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.breakthrought1d.org\/t1d-basics\/diagnosis\/\">D<\/a><span class=\"TextRun SCXW82045766 BCX0\" lang=\"EN-US\" xml:lang=\"EN-US\" data-contrast=\"auto\"><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW82045766 BCX0\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.breakthrought1d.org\/t1d-basics\/diagnosis\/\">iagnosed with T1D<\/a> at 8 years old, in 2020, Clara lives <\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW82045766 BCX0\">a very active<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW82045766 BCX0\"> life<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW82045766 BCX0\">.\u00a0 <\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW82045766 BCX0\">She is an avid swimmer and plays both basketball and volleyball<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW82045766 BCX0\">.\u00a0 <\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW82045766 BCX0\">However, T1D <\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW82045766 BCX0\">impacts<\/span> <span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW82045766 BCX0\">just about everything<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW82045766 BCX0\"> she does<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW82045766 BCX0\">.\u00a0 <\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW82045766 BCX0\">Clara shares that \u201c<\/span><\/span><span class=\"TextRun SCXW82045766 BCX0\" lang=\"EN-US\" xml:lang=\"EN-US\" data-contrast=\"auto\"><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW82045766 BCX0\">swimming is much harder for me in a way that most people <\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW82045766 BCX0\">don\u2019t<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW82045766 BCX0\"> understand<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW82045766 BCX0\">.\u00a0 <\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW82045766 BCX0\">But I <\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW82045766 BCX0\">don\u2019t<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW82045766 BCX0\"> let T1D get in the way of anything I want to do, even if <\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW82045766 BCX0\">it\u2019s<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW82045766 BCX0\"> hard.<\/span><\/span><span class=\"TextRun SCXW82045766 BCX0\" lang=\"EN-US\" xml:lang=\"EN-US\" data-contrast=\"auto\"><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW82045766 BCX0\">\u201d\u00a0 Clara wants you to join her at Beat the Bridge this year because she dreams of a future without T1D, where she can dive fully into her passions \u2013 without having to plan for T1D or pause for juice.<\/span><\/span><span class=\"EOP SCXW82045766 BCX0\" BCX0\">Meet Max, Age 13<\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"TextRun SCXW256256634 BCX0\" lang=\"EN-US\" xml:lang=\"EN-US\" data-contrast=\"auto\"><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW256256634 BCX0\">Diagnosed with T1D at just 3 years old, two weeks before his twin siblings were born, Max has never known life without diabetes<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW256256634 BCX0\">.<\/span><\/span><span class=\"TextRun SCXW256256634 BCX0\" lang=\"EN-US\" xml:lang=\"EN-US\" data-contrast=\"auto\"><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW256256634 BCX0\"> \u201cI love playing soccer and I\u2019m excited about being a positive role model for kids with T1D \u2013 just like the T1D Warrior,<\/span> <span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW256256634 BCX0\">Jordan Morris from the has been dancing since she was 3 years old and was scared that T1D would hold her back<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW96656152 BCX0\">.\u00a0 <\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW96656152 BCX0\">But she <\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW96656152 BCX0\">hasn\u2019t<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW96656152 BCX0\"> let it and today as a Junior in high school, Rachel feels confident in herself and her T1D journey, and wants to share her story with others to inspire them to keep going<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW96656152 BCX0\">.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>
