On July 3, 2021, Audrey was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes. She fought her way out of an ICU bed and embarked on this new life with a new language, new doctors and new technology. Thank you to all her amazing friends, my friends and family, doctors, school nurse, coaches, teachers and occasionally the kindness of strangers who helped get us through that crazy first year.  It certainly takes a village.

This is a full time job. 24/7. No breaks. Not ever. Her only escape will be a cure. Jay and I will do anything to find that for her and the over 9.5 million people living with T1D worldwide. I did 3 NYC marathons and have recently joined the Breakthrough T1D NY Board and am co-chairing the Promise Gala for the second year.
