All children must have a registered parent or guardian in the event with them.<\/li>\n<li>The race is after King Kalakaua, who was known as the Merrie Monarch. The one-mile course starts at the Kapiolani Park end of Kalakaua Avenue and the turnaround is by Kaiulani Ave.<\/li>\n<li>The course is out and back, starting on Monsarrat Avenue. The course heads west into Waikiki with the turnaround at 2424 Kalakaua Avenue.
