I can tell you from first hand experience how important it is that as Type 1s, we all participate in trials.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>My name\u00a0is Carrie Khouri and I was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes 51 years ago, long before the first blood machines were ever available.\u00a0 The first home blood glucose machine looked like a presidential football.\u00a0 It was about 9 inches by 6 inches and it was housed in a foam padded brief case.\u00a0 It had to remain stable on a flat surface in your home.\u00a0 You could not carry it with you.
