With several other young adults in their family living with the condition, Breakthrough T1D\u2019s mission is especially meaningful to them.  Driven by their family\u2019s experiences, Ben and Sonja have become passionate advocates for Breakthrough T1D. As small business owners, they have generously used their community connections to inspire family, friends, and fellow business leaders to join the fight for cures. Their commitment extends far beyond financial support\u2014they give their time, share their story, volunteer, and faithfully support the Promise Gala each year. In 2025, Sonja expanded her leadership by joining the Gala Committee, helping ensure that even more families affected by T1D have hope for a brighter future.  Ben and Sonja embody the spirit of our Promise Gala: turning personal challenges into purpose, building a stronger community, and helping move us closer to a world where type 1 diabetes no longer exists.
