St. Louis Native Derek Rapp Named Vice Chair of Breakthrough T1D International Board of Directors

Breakthrough T1D International Board of Directors announces the appointment of Derek Rapp as the Vice Chair for the 2015–2016 term. Breakthrough T1D is the leading global organization focused on T1D (type 1 diabetes) research. Since its founding in 1970, Breakthrough T1D has awarded more than $1.7 billion to diabetes research.
Rapp began his term on the International Board in 2010 and has assumed a number of leadership roles. He is also Mergers and Acquisitions and New Growth Platform Lead for Monsanto Company.
“As Chairman of the Breakthrough T1D Research Committee and an active member of the Advocacy, Development, and Executive Committees, Derek has a strong knowledge of Breakthrough T1D research, fundraising, international, and advocacy activities. This broad experience makes him an outstanding volunteer leader and a very compelling fundraiser. Derek will be a powerful force for Breakthrough T1D as he helps to lead the organization to new levels of achievement and success,” said M.
