It’s One Walk Season! One Walk is the nation’s largest and most powerful type 1 diabetes (T1D) event – and now is the perfect time to jump in an join this incredible community.

We had an incredibly inspiring day at the Kansas City One Walk on September 30! Thank you all walkers, donors, volunteers and sponsors who came out for a special day of celebration and community.

Walk Day Superlatives 

We want to celebrate the amazing work you all do leading up to Walk Day. This year your team will have the chance to win one of our brand new Walk Day Superlatives. You will automatically be entered to win once you achieve the criteria for a prize category. Winners will be randomly selected the week of walk to countdown to the big day. Any registered One Walk participant is eligible to win.

Every winner will receive a Breakthrough T1D One Walk swag bag full of walk day goodies and a special identifier to show off your new title!

Individual Recognition:

• Social Butterfly: Receive at least 5 donations through a Facebook fundraiser, you’ll be entered to win. You Facebook fundraiser must be connected through the Participant Center.
• Motivated Messenger: Send at least 3 emails through the Participant Center.

Team Recognition:

• Team Spirit: Have at least 5 registered participants to your team who have raised at least $20
• Notable Newcomer: Any first year teams who have raised at least $1,000
• Steppin’ Up Squad: Any returning teams who have raised at least $250 more than last year

Get Excited for the T1D Parade!
We have a new addition to One Walk this year! As part of the opening ceremony, we will gather ALL our T1D champions together to parade on stage. We will be honoring all T1D champions by how many years they’ve been a T1D warrior and cheer on the incredible mosaic created. Please plan for extra time on Walk Day to make sure your champion is there to get lined up with the help of our volunteers. There will also be time after the parade for T1D champions to make it back to their teams before the ribbon cutting to ensure all families are able to walk the route together.

Fundraising Prizes 

We want to show you some love for fundraising in the fight to end T1D! Check out the awesome prizes you can earn based on individual fundraising.

$100 – 2023 One Walk T-Shirt: When any individual registered on your team raises $100, they’ll earn the exclusive 2023 One Walk t-shirt. All registrants will receive an e-mail once they hit the $100 level starting on July 14. You can order your t-shirt via the email to ensure you have the size you want and confirm the mailing address.

$500+ – 2023 One Walk Catalog Prizes: After Walk Day, we’ll keep the excitement going with awesome prizes. 30 days after Walk Day we will add up final individual totals and send out codes to redeem prizes at different levels.

$1,000 – 2023 One Walk V1P: For everyone on your team who raises $1,000+ -welcome to V1P! On Walk Day you’ll receive premier parking, an exclusive 2023 badge and lanyard, a commemorative pin, and more!
