Did you know that The FDNY has a Boxing Team that was established in 1982? They challenge other Fire and Police Boxing teams for charity. They have raised hundreds of thousands of dollars for various charities over the years by taking on the toughest Police & Fire Departments from around the world inside the ring. Breakthrough T1D<\/a> is proud to be a beneficiary of their upcoming event in March.<\/p>\n

Robert McGuire, the event coordinator from Howard Beach, is honoring a neighbor’s daughter and a family member by choosing Breakthrough T1D as one of the beneficiaries of their upcoming Boxing Event vs. the Denver, Colorado Fire and Sheriff’sSheriff’s Department in Wantagh, NY. The FDNY believes in raising funds for charity through spirited competition. Their motto is “We will fight anyone, anytime and anywhere\u2026.as long as it’s for a good cause”.<\/p>\n

The Boxing Team is made up of members of the FDNY & EMS who train for these grueling matches strictly on their own time. Helping those in need is in their DNA and is well worth the hard work involved.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
