Registration is NOW OPEN for the 2016 Detroit Free Press Marathon!

Show your passion for finding a cure for type 1 diabetes by representing Team Breakthrough T1D in the 2016 Detroit Free Press Marathon!  The Detroit Free Press Marathon, taking place on October 15 & 16, is the only race event in North America that includes two international border crossings, and the only underwater mile. Race options include: Full Marathon (26.2 miles), Half Marathon (13.1 miles), 5-Person Marathon Relay (3-7 mile legs), and a 5K (3.1 miles).

When you join Team Breakthrough T1D, you will receive many benefits like: paid race entry, Team Breakthrough T1D training shirt and race singlet, expert coaching and group training, fundraising tools and support, invitation to all team events, and helping to turn type one into type none!

The first five participants to register will receive a Breakthrough T1D fleece headband which is perfect for winter training!

Mark your calendars! Registration for the Breakthrough T1D Ride to Cure Diabetes Opens Soon!

Last year, a team of 22 riders from Metro Detroit participated in the Breakthrough T1D Ride to Cure Diabetes and raised $50,000 for type 1 diabetes research.  YOU can be part of this great family of riders in 2016. Registration for the Ride to Cure Diabetes opens on January 20 at 12:00pm!  Be sure to secure your spot for one of our fabulous destination experiences including the BRAND NEW course in Amelia Island, Florida. There are a variety of distances available and all skill levels are welcome!  Breakthrough T1D will help you prepare for success with training rides organized by a local USA Cycling certified coach and fundraising support throughout the season.
