Introducing the Breakthrough T1D Greater Chesapeake and Potomac Chapter

It is certainly an exciting time at Breakthrough T1D! After much thought, deliberation, and planning, the Capitol Chapter and Maryland Chapter have united as one unified team under a new name- the Breakthrough T1D Greater Chesapeake and Potomac Chapter.
This new “mega-chapter” will allow us to maximize chapter resources for greater efficiency. The goal is to provide increased support for local families impacted by T1D, while strengthening our presence in the community and driving increased revenue to support Breakthrough T1D’s mission to create a world without T1D.
While we will retain two physical office locations to serve the large geographic footprint, there is one Executive Director, one unified staff team (aligned based on need, rather than zip code), and two dedicated volunteer boards to better support the constituents and activities in the areas of Maryland, D.C., and Northern Virginia. Please click here for more information on new staff roles.
The creation of the Breakthrough T1D Greater Chesapeake and Potomac Chapter has aligned two teams of motivated, connected individuals committed to improving the lives of people affected by this disease. Our new chapter offers new opportunities to invest in research that will bring us closer to a cure and build a deeper and stronger network of support for children, teens, and adults with T1D.

I hope you share in my excitement as we continue working towards a world without T1D!
