It was so wonderful seeing the Breakthrough T1D Mid-Atlantic Chapter and Commercial Real Estate Industry back together at American University on Thursday, June 9th for the 2022 Breakthrough T1D Real Estate Games after 2 years of being virtual! It was a beautiful sunny day filled with silly games, fierce competition, community building, and changemaking for those living with type 1 diabetes (T1D).  

In total, we raised $613,560—making this the second highest fundraising year ever! Many thanks to our 60+ sponsors, 1700 participants, 250 spectators, 200+ volunteers, 2022 Planning Committee Members, and 2022 Event Chairs. We want to give a big shoutout to this year’s leading sponsors, HITT Contracting and Cushman & Wakefield. We couldn’t have had such an incredible fundraising event without such generous individuals and sponsors! 

We want to send a special thank you to Susan Thomas, CBRE for serving as our Honorary Chair and to Joe Coleman, CBRE, Charlie Smiroldo, Stream Realty Partners, and Samantha Suehiro, Chicago Title Insurance NC DC | MD, for serving as our Event Chairs this year and to our Founder of the Games, Adam Singer, Savills—their leadership was critical to the success of this event and we are beyond grateful for their dedication!
