Join Breakthrough T1D and Dr. Brynn Marks (Children’s National) for an overview of type 1 diabetes management technologies. This event is open to all community members but may be most beneficial to those who are newly diagnosed or are looking at technology options for the first time. Representatives from Tandem and Insulet (Omnipod) will also be on hand to discuss their technology options.

Brynn Marks, MD, MSPHEd

Dr. Marks is a pediatric endocrinologist at Children’s National Hospital. She completed her training in pediatric endocrinology at Boston Children’s Hospital and also obtained a Masters in Health Science Professions Education. Dr. Marks enjoys seeing patients with all types of diabetes, particularly T1D, cystic fibrosis related diabetes, and those with diabetes as a complication of solid organ transplant. She has special interests in diabetes technology and medical education. After struggling with her own diabetes management for years and experiencing the benefits of these technologies firsthand, Dr. Marks is passionate about advocating for her patients and families and raising awareness about how to use these devices to improve life with T1D. Her research has focused on developing an online educational curriculum, Technology Knowledge Optimization in T1D (TeKnO T1D), to improve provider and patient knowledge about T1D technologies.
