Youth Ambassadors are kids and teens living with T1D who commit to a year of volunteer service with Breakthrough T1D. Throughout the year, Youth Ambassadors have opportunities to get involved in their community, build confidence speaking about T1D, develop leadership and storytelling skills, connect with other young people living with T1D, and work alongside Breakthrough T1D staff and T1D leaders to advance our mission of creating a world without T1D.  To be considered for the Youth Ambassador Program, applicants must:  \u2022 Be between the ages of 5\u201318 (Kindergarten\u201312th grade) \u2022 Living with T1D for at least one year \u2022 Have a positive outlook on life and diabetes \u2022 Commit to participating in the program for the entire year  2027 Youth Ambassador Program expectations include:  \u2022 Volunteer a minimum of five hours in support of Breakthrough T1D programs, stewardship activities and\/or events \u2022 Attend and\/or participate in a minimum of 3 Breakthrough T1D events or T1D awareness events\/activities \u2022 Participate in at least one fundraising opportunity for Breakthrough T1D (Walk, Ride, DIY fundraiser, etc) \u2022 Complete 1 speaking engagement - Share your T1D story in front of an audience \u2022 Attend the virtual Youth Ambassador Orientation in January  Parents and\/or guardians have a responsibility in ensuring their child&#039;s success in the program:   Review the application with their child  Provide permission to participate  Assist, as needed, with program support  Provide transportation to Breakthrough T1D events and activities  Ready to get involved and make a difference?
