Honor Someone Special with an Honor Basket at the 2025 Breakthrough T1D Iowa Galas
Make a meaningful contribution to the 2025 Breakthrough T1D Galas by creating an Honor Basket in recognition of a loved one living with type 1 diabetes (T1D).

What is an Honor Basket?
An Honor Basket is a silent auction package built around a theme inspired by your loved one’s favorite things—hobbies, interests, or special experiences. These themed auction packages highlight the “faces of T1D”—a visual and emotional reminder of the real lives behind our mission. Each Honor Basket shares a story and helps raise critical funds to support T1D research, advocacy, and care.
Getting Started:
- Value: Each basket should be valued at $150 or more. Items can be purchased or donated.
- Theme: Choose a creative theme that reflects your honoree—think about what brings them joy or your family’s favorite activities.
- Display: Each basket will include a photo of your honoree, a short personal blurb, and a list of items included in the package.
Example:
Honor Basket: Jane Smith’s Disney Movie Night
Items: Jane’s favorite Disney movies, Netflix gift card, cozy blankets, popcorn, seasoning, bowls, drink cups, and candy
Value: $150
Donated by: The Smith Family
The final package description will be written by Breakthrough T1D staff based on the details you provide in the Honor Basket Commitment Form.
What to Do Next:
- Complete the Honor Basket Commitment Form for your selected event (see below).
- Submit a photo and a short write-up about your loved one.
- Deliver or mail your Honor Basket and completed form by the deadline.
