Nearly 300 attendees joined us on March 16 for a day full of learning and connecting for our local T1D community.<\/p>\n<p>We&#8217;ve heard from many of you that the information shared and opportunities to connect were invaluable. Some of the comments we received are:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>&#8220;I loved the energy and engagement of the staff, volunteers, vendors and community!&#8221;<\/li>\n<li>&#8220;My favorite things about Summit were hearing and sharing stories, and the keynote speaker, Lauren Bongiorno from Risely Health.&#8221;<\/li>\n<li>&#8220;Gary Scheiner&#8217;s talk on technology was so helpful.&#8221;<\/li>\n<li>&#8220;Great vendor fair &#8211; I enjoyed learning from them.&#8221;<\/li>\n<li>\u201cMy daughter enjoyed meeting so many other T1D young women. She is completing a Risely class and enjoyed meeting Lauren and hearing her speak. Thank you again for sending such great info our way regarding T1D!<strong><em>\u201d<\/em><\/strong><\/li>\n<li>&#8220;Everyone was friendly welcoming and the Breakthrough T1D team made it a point to stop and talk to all the families.&#8221;<\/li>\n<li>&#8220;Hearing the latest information about T1D research and how the money we raise is getting put to work makes me feel hopeful.&#8221;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>We are fortunate to have such dedicated, passionate and knowledgeable experts in the T1D field who join us each year. Dr Starkman has been a tireless supporter and advocate for our T1D community, and valued partner to Breakthrough T1D for many years. The presentation included a heartfelt video message from patients, former patients and colleagues, many of whom were present as he accepted his award.
