Hovnanian Children&#8217;s Hospital.<\/p>\n<p>The Healthcare Ambassador is an Everyday Hero who inspires those affected by type 1 diabetes (T1D) to be brave, be strong, and fight to turn Type One into Type None.<\/p>\n<p>Her colleagues and patients alike agree that Alex is truly one-of-a-kind, with one colleague saying she is, &#8220;supportive and flexible, always trying to set realistic goals for our patients with T1D and supporting alternative ways to help them reach these goals.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Alex is a member of the Breakthrough T1D New Jersey Metro &amp; Rockland County Chapter&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breakthrought1d.org\/newjerseymetro\/2021\/06\/30\/introduction-of-the-medical-advisory-committee\/\">Medical Advisory Committee<\/a>, developed last year and composed of key leaders in the clinical community who are active in the education, treatment and research of type 1 diabetes.\u00a0The Medical Advisory Committee\u00a0provides professional advice and guidance to chapter board\/staff leadership on outreach strategies, policies, emerging topics, and key needs that are important to the T1D patient population.<\/p>\n<p>Alex earned her BS in Food Science and Human Nutrition from Clemson University and her MS in Clinical Nutrition from Rutgers University.
