Our November #TypeBlue Social Media Challenge
To celebrate National Diabetes Awareness Month (NDAM) during the month of November, we are kicking off a social media campaign to raise awareness! Each time you raise type 1 diabetes (T1D) awareness, use the hashtag #TypeBlue. Keep reading for details on how you can go #TypeBlue during November.
#TypeBlue Campaign:
- Use hashtag #TypeBlue on any post related to your life with T1D
- Follow #TypeBlue to view chapter posts throughout NDAM and raise T1D awareness locally!
Looking to have some more fun?

How to play:
- Complete a task below and document this on social with the hashtag #JDRFBlueList
- #JDRFBlueList hashtag page will be used to find competitors
- Tasks do not need to be completed in order. Tasks are designed to raise T1D awareness and will range in difficulty

#JDRFBlue List Tasks:
- Design a poster related to T1D awareness for your school/work.
- Prepare a diabetic-friendly dish for Thanksgiving and share the recipe!

- Attend at least one Breakthrough T1D-hosted event in November. Visit our events page for upcoming events! Take a photo at the event and post it.
- On World Diabetes Day (November 14), wear all blue and take a picture. Get your friends and family to wear blue as well if possible!

- Set a T1D goal (either for you personally or for the cure efforts as a whole) and post about it!
- Create a thank you for your endocrinologist and share part of your card.
- Assemble an anonymous “support basket” with a card and some treats for another fellow member of the T1D community.
- Write a letter that can be sent anonymously to another person affected by T1D as a sort of “pen pal” arrangement. Post a picture of the card!
- Post a carb count for one of your meals.
- Find/attend your local discussion group and talk about ways to raise awareness! Check in at the event.
- Post a quote, gif or meme summarizing T1D!
- Meet another fellow person with T1D and post a photo with them, along with a brief description explaining how you met them.
Good luck! And be sure to make your Instagram account public to have your posts count in our #JDRFBlueList challenge.
