Make a Difference by Participating in a T1D Clinical Trial in Northern California<\/h3>\n

Participating in a clinical trial is a great way to contribute to improving lives and curing type 1 diabetes (T1D). There are many trials in Northern California and virtual opportunities to choose from that may be right for you.\u00a0T1D trials need participants of all ages and stages, with research focused on T1D devices and drug therapies to virtual and behavioral observations.

T1D + Eating Disorders: A Key Breakthrough T1D Priority<\/h3>\n

Did you know that people with T1D have a 3-4-fold higher risk of developing disordered eating behaviors than their peers without diabetes? Additionally, existing treatments for eating disorders are less helpful for those with T1D. In 2022 and 2023, Breakthrough T1D funded three projects to address eating disorders in T1D, as well as funded a study which highlights the risks of T1D eating disorders and current barriers to effective and safe treatment.\u00a0Read more.<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n

\nThe T1D partner community meets quarterly on Zoom to hear from others, share advice, and receive support. We discuss topics such as sick day management, meal planning, mental support, hypoglycemia management, and more. The event is held the last Tuesday, every 3 months.
