I could eat whenever I want without having to tell an adult!<\/p>\n<h3><strong>KIREN<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Age: 13 | Age at T1D Diagnosis: 11<\/p>\n<p><strong>What is the hardest part of living with T1D?<\/strong> Bolusing and not being able to eat icees without having to think about it first.<\/p>\n<p>What would a cure mean to you? My life would be so much easier, and I could focus so much time on other things.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>LILY<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Age: 7 | Age at T1D Diagnosis: 6<\/p>\n<p><strong>What is the hardest part of living with T1D?<\/strong> Port changes.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What would a cure mean to you?<\/strong> No more beeps!<\/p>\n<h3><strong>MAX<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Age: 17 | Age at T1D Diagnosis: 2<\/p>\n<p><strong>What is the hardest part of living with T1D?<\/strong> I never get a break from it, even while sleeping.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What would a cure mean to you?<\/strong> A cure would give me back freedom, flexibility and spontaneity.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>MJ\u00a0<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Age: 5 | Age at T1D Diagnosis: 5<\/p>\n<p><strong>What is the hardest part of living with T1D?<\/strong> Managing what I can eat and when. Always having to know what my blood sugar is.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What would a cure mean to you?<\/strong> No more pokes and devices to wear.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>REMI<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Age: 13 | Age at T1D Diagnosis: 7<\/p>\n<p><strong>What is the hardest part of living with T1D?<\/strong> For me, is that it is constant. It never goes away. There is never a break. It will always come first. If I\u2019m already having a hard day being a human, the worst part is having to deal with T1D as well.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What would a cure mean to you?<\/strong> Freedom. Free from daily challenges, free from injections, free from health risks, and free from the pressure of keeping myself alive every day. I would be able to live without the fear of any complications. It would truly be a dream come true.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>SPENCER<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Age: 16 | Age at T1D Diagnosis: 2<\/p>\n<p><strong>What is the hardest part of living with T1D?<\/strong> Constantly thinking about my blood sugar. Especially staying up late at night worrying about my numbers and being uncertain on what direction it will go.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What would a cure mean to you?<\/strong> Freedom to think of other things and a good night&#8217;s sleep. I could go to bed at peace without the thought of having to check my CGM every 5 minutes.<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>The San Francisco Hope Gala is a signature event that attracts social and business leaders from across Northern California.
