Back to School with T1D
July 29, 2021
7:00 pm
Join Breakthrough T1D, Katie McLean, PhD, Licensed Psychologist from Wake Forest Baptist Health as well as a panel of veteran T1D parents for a discussion about how best to prepare for the 2021 -2022 school year. For many children and adolescents, adjusting to remote schooling was one of the most challenging aspects of the COVID-19 pandemic. Although many kids are excited to return to school in-person this fall, others may be struggling with fears and worries related to this transition. This talk will provide parents of kids living with diabetes practical strategies to reduce back-to-school anxiety. It will also give all attendees the opportunities to learn about 504 accommodation plans, health plans, and how best to build a successful relationship with your school care team.
