ChildrensCongressAnnouncement

This July, 13 year old Vincent Po’oi of Sacramento will be joining over 150 children, ages 4-17, from around the United States to help advocate for Type One Diabetes in Washington. D.C. Children’s Congress, along with Breakthrough T1D, will continue to push for federal funding and support by reminding Congress how critical research and development is for those affected by Type One Diabetes. Vincent will be representing the Breakthrough T1D Northern California Chapter as a Delegate for the Children’s Congress. First diagnosed at the age of eight, Vincent has been consistently helping the T1D community by participating in Breakthrough T1D OneWalks while also being a part of a year-long research study for T1D. The future Christian Brothers High School student-athlete is also planning on becoming a diabetes camp counselor when he reaches the age of 18.

Po’oi, with the help of prominent public figures such as sports stars, actors and singers affected by T1D, will join the cause of raising awareness to continue funding for preventing, treating and curing Type One Diabetes. Vincent believes his ambitious attitude toward T1D will inspire others affected by the disease and show them that there is hope.
