Breakthrough T1D Advocates in Action

Government Day—Last month, approximately 185 Advocacy volunteers took to Capitol Hill to deliver our message of the importance of renewing the Special Diabetes Program, strong funding for the NIH and FDA, and accelerating cell therapies. Thank you to our NorCal Advocates: Chris Tapio, Missy Reller, Debra Dommen, Hale Johnston, Jennie Park, Alison ten Cate, and Jamie Kurtzig. Read the recap.

Children’s Congress—Every two years, more than 160 children with type 1 diabetes (T1D) gather in Washington, D.C., to meet face-to-face with some of the top decision-makers in the U.S. Government. Breakthrough T1D 2025 Children’s Congress will take place from July 7–9, 2025. Meet the 2025 NorCal Delegates.

National Volunteer Week is April 20-26!

We extend our deepest gratitude to all our volunteers who power the breakthroughs that make life better for everyone living with T1D. From all of us at Breakthrough T1D Northern California, thank you for the progress you have helped us make, and the progress that is to come. Watch for special highlights throughout the week on our social media @BreakthroughT1Dnorcal: Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn.
