2017 Orlando One Walk: Day-of Details

The Orlando One Walk is taking place on UCF’s Memory Mall, which is directly across from the CFE Arena.  When you exit the parking garages you will be right at our site!

Schedule of Events

8:00 am Registration/Check In Opens & Entertainment Begins
Enjoy Dunkin’ Donuts coffee and Munchkins

9:30 am Walk Begins with Ribbon Cutting at Start/Finish Line

10:30 am Enjoy an assortment of food from Wawa and music
Wawa will be providing pinwheels and apples slices along with other snacks

11:00 am T Shirt Contest Winners & Walk Totals 

Parking Note: The two best routes for entry are either through the main entrance at UCF, take a right, and follow around OR if you are coming from 408 you can take Research Parkway.
You may park in either Garage H or Garage D for attending the One Walk.
Both garages are equidistant from Memory Mall.

In accordance with UCF policy, NO PETS will be permitted at the Walk.

The Walk will take place rain or shine.

All food carb counts will be provided on site.

Team Photos
Team Photo Times are now only available from 11:00-11:30am (post-walk) and are FILLING UP QUICKLY.  Time slots are every 5 minutes in that window.  To schedule your team’s photo please email Casey Barnhardt.
The photos will be taken at the Breakthrough T1D One Walk Arch (start/finish line) this year.

Test Drive a Ford and Breakthrough T1D gets Cash!
Drive 4 Ford is partnering with the Central Florida Chapter in a HUGE way! Whether you’re in the market for a new car or not, stop by the Ford tent to test drive any Ford vehicle on site.  For every test drive, Ford will donate $20 to Breakthrough T1D, up to $6,000 total!  All you need is a valid driver’s license and you must be 18 years of age or older.  Get your whole team together and help us reach our goal!  

TrialNet
TrialNet will be doing screenings at the One Walk as well from 8:00am-Noon. Participating involves a simple blood test that could detect risk up to ten years before symptoms appear. Those that test at increased risk may be eligible to participate in a prevention trial or ongoing monitoring. Screening is offered at no cost to relatives. Anyone between the ages of 1 and 45 with a parent, sibling, or child with type 1 diabetes or anyone between the ages of 1 and 20 with a cousin, niece/nephew, aunt/uncle, half-sibling or grandparent with type 1 diabetes may be eligible  to participate.
