Fund A Cure with the Rudd Family | Breakthrough T1D Tampa Gala 2025
FL
For nearly two decades, our family has been deeply committed to Breakthrough T1D’s mission to turn Type One into Type None. When Emmabella was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes at just five years old, our world changed forever. With the love and support of family, friends, and the diabetes community, she transformed this lifelong challenge into her passion and purpose.
Through our team, Emmabella’s Believers, we have proudly stood alongside Breakthrough T1D for 19 years, raising more than $600,000 through Walks, the Ride, and Galas to help drive critical research forward.
Tricia has served on the Breakthrough T1D Board for 15 years as Advocacy Team Chair, working to amplify the voices of those living with T1D on Capitol Hill and helping to secure vital research funding through the NIH. Emmabella, the inspiration behind it all, has grown into a powerful advocate in her own right. She was honored to represent Florida as a Breakthrough T1D Children’s Congress Delegate in 2013 and has continued this important work ever since. Today, as a recent Georgetown University graduate with a master’s degree in health policy and advocacy, she is determined to help transform and improve health care in our country.
This year, our family is deeply honored and humbled to serve as the 2025 Tampa Bay Gala Honorees. While this recognition means so much to us personally, what matters most is the opportunity to raise life-changing funds for research and treatments through Fund A Cure.
Fund A Cure donations go directly toward the research that will bring us closer to better treatments, prevention, and ultimately a cure for type 1 diabetes. Your generosity has the power to change lives—including Emmabella’s and the millions of others living with T1D.
We ask you to join us in this mission. Together, we can turn hope into reality and make Type None possible.
With gratitude and hope,
John, Tricia, Emmabella, Evan, Ava and Addyson
