{"id":6642,"date":"2023-08-02T08:00:16","date_gmt":"2023-08-02T08:00:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.breakthrought1d.org\/northernflorida\/?p=6642"},"modified":"2025-11-26T19:24:29","modified_gmt":"2025-11-26T19:24:29","slug":"clinical-trials","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.breakthrought1d.org\/northernflorida\/2023\/08\/02\/clinical-trials\/","title":{"rendered":"Clinical Trials Move T1D Research Forward"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>There are more than 300 clinical trials for people with type one diabetes (T1D), including diabetic complications\u2014eye disease, kidney disease, nerve disease.\u00a0 Many of these trials take place in the Northern Florida Chapter territory.\u00a0 Here are a few of the clinical trial sites in our area and some of the studies they are currently recruiting for:<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.breakthrought1d.org\/northernflorida\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/103\/2022\/05\/Scan_20220804-5.pdf\">Virtual Study to learn about quality of life in youth with T1D<\/a><\/strong> Recruiting youth between the ages of 11 and 17 who have had T1D for at least 12 months. &#8211; <strong><em>NEW!!\u00a0<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.adventhealthresearchinstitute.com\/research\/translational-research\">AdventHealth Translational Research Institute, Orlando<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0 The scientists and clinicians at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.adventhealthresearchinstitute.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">AdventHealth Research Institute<\/a> are committed to extending and improving the quality of lives through education and world class, innovative translational research for various metabolic diseases including 1 diabetes. &#8211; <em><strong>NEW!!<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.breakthrought1d.org\/northernflorida\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/103\/2022\/12\/Gladiator-study-flyer.pdf\">Gladiator study flyer<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0&#8211; The GLADIATOR study is enrolling adolescents and adults ages 14 to 45 with type 1 diabetes. Patients must be currently or have been previously treated with insulin, with the first dose of insulin less than 180 days before enrollment.
