Russell Hoppenstein Rides to Cure Diabetes
in General
For this year’s Ride to Cure Diabetes in Burlington, VT Russell Hoppenstein had his hopes set high. Having participated in Breakthrough T1D’s Rides the past 3 years, Russell wanted to make an even greater impact for Breakthrough T1D. After months of training, fundraising and preparation Russell not only completed the 100 mile ride in just over 6 hours, but he also raised over $14,000 for Breakthrough T1D! Way to go Russell!
Russell rides in honor of his son, Lance, who was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes at two years old. After a month of dealing with the challenges of having to manage diabetes in a toddler, Russell decided to take action and work to find a cure for Lance. This passion has driven Russell to reach out to friends and family to support him as he rides for find a cure for T1D. Russell will continue to ride for Team Lance-a-lot until a cure is found!
We are excited to have Russell as our 2013 Greater Dallas Chapter Ride Chair! His outstanding success and passion for Breakthrough T1D are sure to inspire others to ride for a cure!
