This year’s Cliff Harris Breakthrough T1D Reunion Golf Classic tournament, held on Monday, June 14, 2021, celebrated tournament host Cliff Harris, and Drew Pearson, on their induction to the Pro Football Hall of Fame. Legendary Hall of Famers and Dallas Cowboys came together to kick off the COUNTDOWN TO CANTON! Celebrity guests included Roger Staubach, Charlie Waters, Charles Haley, Mel Renfro, Rayfield Wright and “Mean” Joe Green.
“We are thrilled with the success of this year’s golf tournament, as it allows us to continue to support advances in T1D, which help people live longer and with fewer complications from diabetes,” said Amy Camp, executive director of Breakthrough T1D North Texas and Oklahoma. “We would like to congratulate our amazing host Cliff Harris, and special guest, Drew Pearson, on their induction into the Pro Football Hall of Fame.”
Also honoring a huge milestone, Breakthrough T1D is celebrating 50 years of life-changing research for those living with type one diabetes (T1D). Cliff’s dedication to Breakthrough T1D stems from the loss of his father who died from T1D complications. Since joining the Breakthrough T1D Board of Directors Cliff has raised over $4,000,000 and will not stop until type 1 diabetes is defeated.
JDRF’s mission it to improve lives today and tomorrow by accelerating life-changing breakthroughs to cure, prevent and treat T1D and its complications.
