The <\/span>Breakthrough T1D T1D Resource Library <\/a><\/strong><\/span>is a comprehensive collection of educational guides, tools, and support resources designed to help individuals and families navigate life with type 1 diabetes (T1D). It covers key topics including diabetes management, nutrition, exercise, mental health, health insurance, school accommodations, workplace rights, pregnancy, travel, emergency preparedness, and transitioning to independence. The library also provides information on managing healthcare costs, understanding 504 Plans, and accessing community support resources for people living with T1D and their caregivers.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

\nA quick, beginner-friendly video playlist that explains type 1 diabetes, from symptoms and diagnosis to insulin, blood sugar management, and everyday care, in short, easy-to-follow lessons.<\/span><\/p>\n

\nA curated digital library of books for people living with type 1 diabetes (T1D), their families, and supporters, featuring educational resources, personal stories, and community-recommended reads.<\/span><\/p>\n

Breakthrough T1D Community Forum<\/a><\/strong><\/span>
\nAn online space where people with T1D, their families, and friends can connect, share experiences, find support, and access resources. Anyone 18 or older can join the conversation and engage with the community.<\/span><\/p>\n

Going Back to School with T1D<\/a><\/strong><\/span>
\nAs students head back to the classroom, families managing T1D often face extra planning and preparation. From coordinating with teachers and school nurses to ensuring accommodations are in place, a strong support system can help students thrive both academically and medically. Breakthrough T1D offers a variety of resources designed to help families navigate every stage of the school journey, from preschool through college.<\/span><\/p>\n

\nWhether you were diagnosed yesterday or 20 years ago, join us to share stories and make new friends within the adult T1D community. <\/span>Tuesdays at 7:00 p.m.<\/span>

Parents of Toddlers Support Group:<\/a><\/span>
\n<\/strong>Connect with fellow parents raising toddlers with T1D. Share experiences, ask questions, and learn from one another. Third Thursday of each month at 8:00 p.m.<\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Teen Girls with T1D Virtual Call<\/strong><\/a>:<\/span><\/strong>
\nTeen Girls with T1D is a supportive monthly gathering for girls ages 12\u201317 living with T1D. This group offers a chance to make new friends, share experiences, learn from one another, and connect with others who truly understand life with T1D. Last Tuesday of the Month 5:30 p.m.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Safe at School: Advocating for Kids with T1D\u00a0<\/strong><\/span><\/a>

Join Breakthrough T1D and the Metro Parent Groups for a conversation on advocating for your child\u2019s diabetes care at school, understanding their rights, and navigating challenges when support falls short. \nThe NYC Young Professionals Committee (YPC) is a community of professionals ages 22-40 dedicated to supporting Breakthrough T1D through fundraising, advocacy, and volunteerism. United by a shared passion for the mission, we\u2019re working toward a future without type 1 diabetes (T1D).<\/span><\/p>\n

National Diabetes Awareness Day bRUNch<\/b><\/span><\/a>
