For those of you who that don&#8217;t know me, I&#8217;m a mom to a T1D teenager. My son was diagnosed at the age of five; he&#8217;s 16 now. We spent four nights and five days at Doernbecher Children&#8217;s Hospital in Portland. It was during that stay that we were introduced to JDRF, now Breakthrough T1D. Since then, I have been actively involved by attending Breakthrough T1D events, volunteering, advocating, and, for the past few years, serving on our Board of Directors. We have so many incredible events coming up, and I would love to see you join us!<\/p>\n<p>First up, we have our Breakthrough T1D Walk Hype Party taking place on August 25th at Dave &amp; Buster&#8217;s in Happy Valley, OR. This is a great opportunity to connect with other families impacted by T1D. Dealing with the challenges of T1D in the Boise area? Consider participating in the BT1D Ride in Coeur d&#8217;Alene. This will take place on Sept 25th-28th. On October 5th, join us for the BT1D Portland Walk in beautiful Tualatin Park. Come on out and meet families and individuals impacted by T1D. Not in the Portland area on October 5th? No problem. Our awesome volunteers in Eastern WA will be hosting the BT1D Spokane Walk that same day.<\/p>\n<p>In the Seattle area in October? Join us for our T1D Educational Summit and learn more about the research you are helping to fund. Do you want to get dressed up and support the mission? Join us at the PNW Gala on November 15th at the Sheraton in downtown Seattle. Game On!
