The trial is testing the efficacy and tolerability of OPT101 \u2013 an investigational drug aimed at both the possibility of delaying the onset of T1D and improving pancreatic beta cell function.<\/p>\n<p>This study is placebo controlled with 2\/3rds of the participants receiving the study medication and 1\/3<sup>rd<\/sup> receiving a placebo. Each infusion will last 30 minutes. Participants will receive 8 infusions of the study drug intravenously at our clinic in Renton throughout the duration of the study. Each infusion will last 30 minutes. The first infusion visit will require an 8-hour observation period at our clinic, with each subsequent appointment requiring a <strong>minimum<\/strong> of 2-hour observation at the clinic (two of these visits will include an 8-hour cardiac monitoring).
