The 2025 Breakthrough T1D Children\u2019s Congress<\/strong> will be held July 7\u20139<\/strong> in Washington, D.C.<\/strong>, bringing together over 160 youth (ages 4\u201317) from across the U.S. and beyond. Participants will engage with Members of Congress and Federal leaders to share their experiences with T1D and advocate for important issues.<\/p>\n

\nHonolulu Marathon Weekend<\/h3>\n

<\/a><\/p>\nThe Merrie Mile is a fun one-mile race in Waikiki, followed by a beach party. Kids of all ages can participate, as long as they have a registered adult with them. The course, named after King Kalakaua (the “Merrie Monarch”), begins near Kapiolani Park and finishes at Queens Beach. After crossing the finish line, participants are invited to a beach festival for medals, food, and drinks.<\/p>\n

Currently, the program funds $160 million annually to the NIH, but this support expires on December 31, 2024. T1D advocates in Congress are rallying support to renew the program, and we need your help to urge your Members of Congress to sign onto bipartisan letters supporting this vital funding.<\/p>\n
