National Volunteer Appreciation Week: April 17-23, 2022<\/h3>\n

During National Volunteer Week (April 17-23, 2022), Breakthrough T1D will celebrate the passion and dedication of our volunteer partners. The 2022 theme is T1D Changemakers – individuals who take action to accelerate life-changing breakthroughs to cure, treat, and prevent type 1 diabetes (T1D). Congratulations to Dr. Saleh Adi<\/strong>, this year’s recipient of our chapter’s Community Volunteer Award. Insulin Affordability & T1D Basics<\/h3>\n

Last week the House of Representatives passed the Affordable Insulin Now Act, <\/strong>including a provision to cap the out-of-pocket cost for insulin at $35\/month.\u00a0The bill now moves to the Senate and Breakthrough T1D is working hard to advocate for its support. With so much misinformation and misguided comments about insulin dependency in the news lately, raising awareness is more important than ever. How a San Francisco Rider is Putting Breakthrough T1D on the Map<\/h3>\n

Jakub “Kuba” Mosur is raising awareness and fundraising for T1D research in\u00a0his own unique way \u2013 by creating impressive GPS art when he rides. This year, he is participating in the Breakthrough T1D Ride<\/a><\/strong> for the first time, in honor of his 13-year-old daughter Zosia.
