Guest Speaker Announcement!

Melissa Apa is a Clinical Pharmacist, CDCES, and proud T1D mom with 15 years of experience supporting people with diabetes. When her son was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes 3.5 years ago, her professional background gave her the tools to approach the diagnosis with calm, knowledge, and confidence — but it was her heart as a mom that deepened her commitment to helping others.

She brings a unique blend of clinical expertise and lived experience, along with a passion for education, advocacy, and empowerment. Melissa’s mission is to help people with diabetes not just survive, but thrive, and she’s excited to share her story and insights with our community.

Our in-person T1D Connections meetings allow families of children 5-11 years of age and their caregivers to meet once a month. Supervision of the children is provided, as well as games and activities. The parents/caregivers will have guided conversations in a separate space.

Please contact Laura Gill at lauramgill@hotmail.com or 716-249-1193 with questions about these meetings.
