Check-In & Drop-off

Individual check-in and Children’s check-in will take place from 9:00 a.m. to 9:40 a.m.

What will my child do during the children’s program?

Your child will explore various exhibits throughout the museum from 9:40 a.m. to 10:40 a.m. There will be a break at 10:45 a.m. so you can can check in with your child, grab a snack, or use the restroom.

The children’s program will resume at 11:00 a.m. and continue until the end of the Keynote Session at 11:30 a.m. At the conclusion of the Keynote Session, volunteers will bring the children to the theatre to listen to Conley Baldwin’s presentation and be reunited with their parents.

Our Children’s Program will be run by the Camp Healthy Hope program instructors. Camp Healthy Hope is a day camp for children ages 3-13 with type 1 diabetes (T1D) and their siblings.

Where will my child be during the program?

Children will be visiting different exhibits in the museum depending on their interests.  Children will not be leaving the museum at any time.

When can I check on my child?

Anytime! You can pick up your child from the children’s program at any time, but please alert a volunteer before taking your child.

Can my child listen in on the presentations if they do not want to do the children’s program?

Absolutely! If you take your child from the children’s program, just make sure to let one of the volunteers know.

What happens if my child’s blood sugar is high or low during the program?

Our volunteers will have snacks on them at all times. Parents will be contacted via the child’s identification bracelet immediately if a blood sugar reads low or high. The volunteers are NOT allowed to administer any insulin.
