In April 2017, my nephew Parker was diagnosed with type one diabetes, changing his life in ways I couldn’t have anticipated. Supporting Parker’s One Walk team, Parker’s Pack, in those early years helped me understand the courage required to face this disease daily. Today, I am privileged to work with Breakthrough T1D, where my role is to plan and execute our Gala program across Buffalo, Rochester, and Syracuse. Through these events, I’m able to raise vital funds and awareness that support research, treatment, and ultimately, the search for a cure.

My work at Breakthrough T1D has shown me just how powerful we can be together. Each gala, each dollar raised, each generous gesture of support brings us one step closer to a world where type one diabetes no longer dictates the lives of those we love. Every day, I’m motivated by Parker’s resilience and the hope that we can one day live in a world without type one diabetes.
