This weekend was the first weekend since 2019 that Breakthrough T1D Ride was able to host an in-person ride in Saratoga Springs, which is a Ride community favorite. Everyone was so excited to be back together once again \u2013 especially our team from the Mountain West Chapter!<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_7021\" style=\"width: 235px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.breakthrought1d.org\/utah\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/163\/2022\/10\/All-5-Riders-SS-scaled-1.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-7021\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-7021\" src=\"https:\/\/www.breakthrought1d.org\/mountainwest\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/84\/2022\/10\/All-5-Riders-SS-800x1067.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"225\" height=\"300\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-7021\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Mountain West Riders John Riordan, Paige Norton, Tom Kissinger, Annette Kissinger, and Chris Eaton<\/p><\/div>\n<p>John Riordan; Paige Norton; Tom and Annette Kissinger; and Chris Eaton all woke up bright and early on September 10 to celebrate themselves, each other, their T1D champions, and the continuing work that Breakthrough T1D does to <strong>improve lives<\/strong> and <strong>cure T1D<\/strong> by completing 100 miles through the gorgeous forested valley of the Adirondack Mountains. Our chapter\u2019s very own Coach Tom Kissinger placed in the top 10 fundraisers of the event, raising over $28,000 to support T1D research.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_7022\" style=\"width: 235px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.breakthrought1d.org\/utah\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/163\/2022\/10\/Annette-and-Paige-SS-scaled-1.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-7022\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-7022\" src=\"https:\/\/www.breakthrought1d.org\/mountainwest\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/84\/2022\/10\/Annette-and-Paige-SS-800x1067.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"225\" height=\"300\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-7022\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Paige Norton and Annette Kissinger at the Saratoga Springs Ride<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Overall, all riders from across all Breakthrough T1D chapters came together to raise over <strong>ONE MILLION DOLLARS<\/strong> to support Breakthrough T1D in this event alone! We are so proud of all our participants who traveled all the way to New York to come together and celebrate.<\/p>\n<p>Mackenzie Turner, the Mountain West Chapter&#8217;s Senior Development Coordinator, had the opportunity to join our team in Saratoga Springs. Of the weekend, she writes: \u201cMy favorite part of the weekend was seeing everyone come together for one big celebration, no matter how their T1D and Breakthrough T1D story began. It was heartwarming to see new friends being made, old friends reuniting and community being built. I was once told \u2018Community is where we go to practice love\u2019 \u2013 and my experience in Saratoga Springs confirmed that the Breakthrough T1D and T1D community is love. It is support.
