You&#8217;ll also have opportunities to connect with fellow members of your T1D community and hear about the broader experiences of life with the disease from those who get it.<\/p>\n<p><em>So what can I expect on event day?<\/em><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Major research<\/strong> <strong>updates! <\/strong>Our keynote speaker is Chris German, Utah Board Member and Mission Information Volunteer. His presentation is titled &#8220;T1D Research Breakthroughs: No and On the Horizon.&#8221; He&#8217;ll be sharing information on the exciting discoveries <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breakthrought1d.org\/explore-research\/funded-research\/\">Breakthrough T1D-funded researchers<\/a> have uncovered in the past year and what future breakthroughs we have to look forward to.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Mission moments! <\/strong>Hear exciting details about how you can have a direct impact on Breakthrough T1D&#8217;s mission.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Vendor fair!<\/strong> You&#8217;ll have a chance to visit with leading industry partners. You&#8217;ll also be able to chat with Breakthrough T1D staff and volunteers about the various programs and resources we offer.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Special giveaways!<\/strong> We&#8217;ll have games and contests where you&#8217;ll have a chance to win some cool Breakthrough T1D-branded swag.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><em>When should I plan to be there?<\/em><\/p>\n<p>We encourage guests to begin arriving at <strong>5:30pm<\/strong>, so you have time to visit the vendor fair and participate in our contests before programming begins at <strong>6:15pm<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><em>Will there be food?<\/em><\/p>\n<p>While there will not be dinner provided, we will have yummy snacks and beverages, including gluten-free options.<\/p>\n<p><em>Do you need volunteers?<\/em><\/p>\n<p>We do have volunteer opportunities available!
