He believes it&#8217;s important for more people to understand that T1D is an autoimmune disease\u2014not the result of lifestyle choices\u2014and works to raise awareness wherever he can.<\/p>\n<p>Parker has participated in Breakthrough T1D events, including walks and galas, and says these experiences have helped him feel less alone in his T1D journey. Seeing others with T1D devices in everyday life reminds him of the strength of the community and the shared experiences that connect people living with the disease. He remains involved because he wants to help others with T1D and contribute to meaningful progress toward a better future.<\/p>\n<p>Outside of his volunteer efforts, Parker is passionate about rugby. As a college rugby player, he carefully manages his diabetes while competing and hopes to show others that having T1D should never stop someone from pursuing their goals. In fact, Parker recently helped organize a volunteer group from his college rugby team to support the 2026 Syracuse Gala, bringing together teammates to give back to the T1D community and further the mission of Breakthrough T1D. This leadership reflects his commitment to both his sport and the cause that means so much to him.<\/p>\n<p>When asked what he wants others to know about living with T1D while pursuing their passions, Parker&#8217;s message is simple and inspiring: anyone can do it. Through his advocacy, volunteerism, and willingness to share his story, Parker is helping to create a stronger, more connected community for everyone affected by
