Run for Team Breakthrough T1D in the Pittsburgh Marathon on May 6th-7th!<\/strong><\/p>\n

Breakthrough T1D is the leading global organization harnessing the power of research, advocacy, and community engagementto advance life-changing breakthroughs for type 1 diabetes (T1D). From funding innovative research to advocating for government action to providing a support structure for our community, no other organization does more to fight type 1 diabetes (T1D) than Breakthrough T1D.<\/p>\n

Why Run for Charity?<\/strong><\/p>\n

By choosing to Run For A Reason, you will be a part of something greater than yourself. Let\u2019s face it \u2014 there\u2019s no better feeling than crossing the finish line and knowing that those miles counted for MORE! It\u2019s time to connect passion with purpose and Run For A Reason in 2023<\/p>\n

How It Works<\/strong><\/p>\n

After registering and selecting a charity to fundraise for, charity runners will receive their own fundraising page through Race Roster that they can use to collect donations.<\/p>\n

Run for FREE!<\/strong><\/p>\n

If a charity runner selects to fundraise for Breakthrough T1D, they will be eligible for a refund on their registration fee (essentially earning a FREE registration!). In order to receive a refund, charity runners must raise a minimum amount of money for the organization they selected. Fundraising minimums vary by event and are listed below:<\/p>\n

Fundraising Minimums per Runner (Or Relay Team)<\/strong><\/p>\n

Marathon: $500<\/p>\n

Half Marathon: $400<\/p>\n

Marathon Relay Team: $1,000<\/p>\n

5K Run: $150<\/p>\n

Kids Marathon: $50<\/p>\n

Toddler Trot: $50<\/p>\n

Pet Walk: $50<\/p>\n

Join Us!<\/strong><\/p>\n

If you haven’t registered for your race yet, go to thepittsburghmarathon.com, and click on “register”. During the registration process, you’ll be asked if you would like to run in support of a charity. Choose “yes” and select “Breakthrough T1D”.<\/p>\n

If you have already registered for your race, and did not select to run for a charity yet, you can edit your registration to run for Breakthrough T1D. Go to raceroster.com and sign in with the email you used for your race registration. Click on “view registration” on the Pittsburgh Marathon box. Then, click the “edit registration” button. Under “registration questions”, scroll down until you see “would you like to run in support of a charity”. Choose “yes” and select “Breakthrough T1D”.<\/p>\n
