Whether or not you are able to join them at the event, you can still support their efforts with a <\/em><a href=\"https:\/\/jdrf-centralpa.ejoinme.org\/fundacure\"><em>100% tax-deductible Fund A Cure gift<\/em><\/a><em> today to accelerate life-changing breakthroughs in T1D research.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Previous post<\/em><\/strong> |\u00a0 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.jdrf.org\/westcentralpa\/2024\/04\/05\/all-of-us-kates-ryans-diagnoses\/\"><em>ALL OF US: Kate&#8217;s &amp; Ryan&#8217;s Diagnoses<\/em><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>T1D Won\u2019t Stop Us!<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>One of our family\u2019s favorite pastimes is getting out of the house and getting active whether through sports or a spontaneous trip to the park or Sky Zone, our local indoor trampoline park.<\/p>\n<p>Of course, one of the more challenging aspects of life with T1D is how activity impacts glucose. \u00a0It requires us to be as proactive as possible. \u00a0We look at glucose levels, insulin on board, think about food on board, the intensity\/duration of the activity\u2026 and do we have everything we need?!\u00a0 It\u2019s really about planning the best we can and trying to make the best decision we can in the moment!<\/p>\n<p>If only we had a glucose crystal ball instead of a magic 8 ball for questions like: \u201cShould I use activity mode and eat half a pack of Skittles\u2026?\u201d All signs point to \u201cYES\u201d!!! \u00a0We follow through with what we think is best and sometimes we get stuck with a low or high anyway\u2014so frustrating!<\/p>\n<p>Still, despite the challenges and all of the lows and the highs, we are always prepared.\u00a0 We try to learn, adapt, and NEVER let diabetes stop us from doing what we love!<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><em>What are your favorite T1D tips for dealing with sports or increased activity?<\/em><\/li>\n<li><em>Have you had any major successes or T1D frustrations regarding activity?<\/em><\/li>\n<li><em>We would love to see photos of you or your loved one with T1D being active\u2014please share! <\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>We would love for you to share your story<\/u><\/strong>.\u00a0 Our hope is to share all of our stories at the <strong><em>2024 Breakthrough T1D Central PA Gala<\/em><\/strong> because this is about <strong>#ALLOFUS.\u00a0 <\/strong>For the chance for your story to be included on signage at the Gala, e-mail <a href=\"mailto:abreining@BreakthroughT1D.org\">abreining@BreakthroughT1D.org<\/a> and\/or tag your story on social media with: #ALLOFUS #JDRFCentralPAGala #JDRFWestCentralPA<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp; &nbsp; ALL OF US: T1D Won\u2019t Stop Us!
